St Davids
2006
The Harlequin Singers had a delightful weekend in April singing at
the Cathedral in St. David's. They sang Evensong in the (rear) chapel
of the Cathedral, which was an intimate start to the weekend's worship.
In the evening we all met up at one of the City's hotels, where some
were staying, for an excellent three course meal, which ended in traditional
style with some ad hoc singing, some of which Peter approved and some
he did not!
Sunday Eucharist was well supported and the music well received. We
then adjourned for Sunday lunch to another local hotel. The weather
was so good that many were able to walk off their lunch in the sunshine.
Some even managed a walk on the nearby cliff tops. The day ended with
a larger than expected congregation for Evensong and everyone felt
at the end that it had been an uplifting and thoroughly enjoyable
weekend.
Brecon 2003
In November 2003 we were privileged to lead three choral services
over the All Saints weekend at Brecon Cathedral - something of a new
venture for us. We had lots to learn about what to do and when, but
it was a wonderful opportunity to have the chance of singing (for
the first time for most of the singers) sacred music in the setting
for which it
was written.
