Nautical singing on The Balmoral

Nautical singing on The Balmoral

As our Summer concert is earlier this year on Sat 18th May, and as it has a nautical theme, we’ve arranged a special extra on 3rd June. We’re doing a similar programme in the highly appropriate location of The Balmoral, moored in central Bristol.

The centrepiece will be Songs of the Sea, a rousing cycle of five songs by Charles Stanford for baritone and chorus to poems by Henry Newbolt.

We’re also offering music by Schubert, Brahms, Vaughan Williams, Wood, Morley, Hatton, Tallis, Bullard, Dylan, Gibbons, rounded off by some shanties, some original English folk songs and a juicy arrangement of the standard Mr Sandman.

There are only 60 tickets available due to the restricted space on the boat. There will be some available on the door (card or cash) but it’s best if you book in advance, below. Note that all children will also need tickets, although they are free.

The Balmoral has moved from it’s usual mooring by the M-Shed to it’s summer berth at Mardyke Quay (opposite SS Great Britain) https://mvbalmoralfund.weebly.com.
